As a Director with Ravenel Associates, Tucker Ervin is jointly responsible for the strategic direction, oversight and growth of all four of the company’s divisions: Ravenel Associates Management, Ravenel Associates Commercial, Ravenel Associates Real Estate (RARE) and Ravenel Associates Building Services.
With a primary focus on investment strategy, capital markets activity, investment origination, and portfolio performance, Ervin actively drives high-touch partner relationships, sources and secures new opportunities, and helps oversee daily operations.
Among his milestones achieved since joining the firm in 2018, Ervin established Ravenel Associates Building Services divisions; thereby creating comprehensive property enhancement entities with invaluable development expertise including engineers, field supervisors, property managers and more. Today, he serves as an advisor and close collaborator with the management teams heading the Ravenel Associates Management and Ravenel Associates Building Services divisions.
In addition to orchestrating Ravenel Associates overarching strategic vision and company scaling, Ervin oversees a Lowcountry industrial master plan, commercial property management across the Greater Charleston area, and a residential development in Pickens County, SC.
Prior to joining the Ravenel Associates family of property services, Ervin served as the Director of Finance for Greystar Real Estate Partners where he capitalized and structured multifamily investments across the United States. During his seven years with Greystar, he underwrote, structured transactions, syndicated finance and orchestrated legal documentation to secure more than $5.7 billion in finance.
During his Greystar tenure, Ervin was part of the portfolio management team and investment strategy team working on Greystar’s flagship, value-add fund totaling more than $4.5 billion in assets. He was integral in facilitating the rapid growth of one discretionary fund to seven composed of hundreds of assets by implementing the company’s proprietary financial reporting platform. Ervin also played an instrumental role in transitioning Greystar from a publicly traded to private company.
Before venturing into real estate, Ervin worked as a portfolio analyst with JP Morgan Private Bank in New York City where he designed and implemented investment portfolios spanning equities, fixed income, structured products and alternative investments.
Ervin holds both the NASD/FINRA Series 7 and the NASD/FINRA Series 66 licenses along with expertise across Bloomberg, Yardi, Asset Eye, and C3 Management Software.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from College of Charleston in 2006. While achieving higher education, Ervin was a proud member of both the College of Charleston and LSU Men’s Golf Teams achieving a SOCON Second Team All-Conference award at CofC.
As a dedicated member of the Charleston community, Ervin previously served on the Board of Directors for the First Tee of Charleston and is actively involved in several local organizations as a volunteer and donor including Lowcountry Children’s Center and the MUSC Children’s Hospital.
When he is not actively pursuing real estate investment opportunities or evolving Ravenel Associates, you may find him golfing, skiing, or cheering on the Gamecocks with his wife and son.
