Carlyle Blakeney is an established commercial real estate professional with over 35 years of experience in the industry. Mr. Blakeney has a diversified background in the leasing and brokerage of land parcels, medical facilities, industrial properties, retail locations, office spaces, and 1031 tax-deferred exchanges. As the co-founder and owner of Medical Development Associates, he has extensive experience in the development of medical facilities across the southeast region. This includes the Hollings Cancer Center in Mount Pleasant, numerous other developments in the Charleston area, and several facilities in Tennessee.
Prior to joining Ravenel Commercial Properties, he was a co-founder and principal in a commercial real estate brokerage firm for 20 years. Through his career, Blakeney has acquired in-depth knowledge and a thorough understanding of the trends and opportunities that influence the commercial market in the Charleston region. When working with clients, he places an emphasis on actively listening to their needs and identifying the challenges facing their business. This allows Carlyle to provide the most value as an advocate for their best interests and success.
For his contributions to the state of South Carolina, Mr. Blakeney has received the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina's highest civilian recognition award, and was named a South Carolina Ambassador for Economic Development. He continues to serve on the board of the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation and received the Congressional Medal of Honor Society's Presidential award for his service. A graduate of Clemson University and the University of Tennessee Graduate School, Carlyle and his wife of 44 years reside in Mount Pleasant. With two married daughters and five grandchildren, he is an active outdoorsman that enjoys spending time with his family.
