The SC Department of Transportation has chosen a joint venture company, Fluor-Lane South Carolina, to build the new Port Access Road in North Charleston, connecting I-26 to the planned Hugh K. Leatherman Sr Terminal. The project will cost $220.7 million and will create a new interchange on I-26, construction on the Bainbridge Connector Road, the extension of Stromboli Avenue, and improvements to surrounding roadways.
